Hello Cambie + 59th Gardeners,
Wow, the first day of Autumn felt literal this year!
Harvest seaon is officially upon us and then it will be time to put the garden to rest for the winter.
WATER SHUTOFF
As always, we will shut off the water in the garden sometime between late October and mid-November, depending on when the frosts begin. We do this so the water lines won’t freeze.
CLEAN UP YOUR BEDS BY NOVEMBER 15TH
Cleaning up your beds for the season means cutting down any rotting/old vegetation.
Doing this helps to keep the garden tidy over the Winter months or before a full garden move out.
Please put any Greens Waste in to the Greens Waste Bins - make sure to shake off soil first!
Feel free to add fallen leaves to your beds as cover.
"Can we still garden during the Winter?"
Yes, feel free to garden during the winter months, but remember, the water will be turned off.
NEXT YEAR - 2027 SEASON?
As we all know, our garden is a temporary one and we were told that they would be developing this year.
We have not been given a move out date yet.
As soon as we hear more about development, we will let you know.
Happy Harvest!
