December has arrived at the 4th & MacDonald garden and with it follows the winter season. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very warm and Happy Holidays!

The first frost of fall has already happened and most of the summer plants are ready to leave the ground. November is the time to clean out your beds and prepare for winter.

Fall is officially here and that means the days are getting shorter and cooler. It’s a great time to start clearing out the dead and dying plants and preparing your beds for the winter months.

With only weeks until the first day of fall, September is a great time to harvest the last of your summer crops and prepare for the fall and winter.

The dog days of summer are here and it is hot out there. Make sure you are watering your plants every day or two to keep them happy and healthy during all this hot weather.

It’s now July at the 4th & MacDonald garden and it’s starting to heat up. With the sun sitting high in the sky and everything drying out much faster, it’s a great time to lock in a solid watering schedule so your plants stay happy and healthy.

June has arrived and summer is only moments away.  With temperatures on the rise, it’s important to remember to water your plants thoroughly and more often so you can maximize your yields and increase your bounty over the summer months.

It’s now mid spring at the 4th & MacDonald garden and all systems are a go. Make sure you are registered for your garden beds as the registration deadline is quickly approaching.

Spring is here at the 4th & MacDonald garden and the growing season is really starting to kick off. There is a lot of uncertainty circulating around the city due to COVID-19 and we have some new rules and guidelines to follow so we can all stay safe and continue to garden.

We have updated our gardening guidelines to respond to COVID-19, and we ask that everyone read through and follow this new protocol.

We made it! Winter is just about over and spring will arrive on March 19th. We’re excited to get the 2020 growing season started and to see what you all will be growing!
